GOD'S SCRIPT

Translated from spanish from the book "Does God still Live?" by Jose Pedro Manglano.

Can the love of God rule over what is random?

Yes. The world is a creation of God. Time in the world, the today and tomorrow, the now and this very instant, is a creation of God. Everything comes from the living love of God, and this same love of God turns everything to the good of his creatures.

"Thank God"
"If God wants"
"It's all for the good"
These and many other expressions affirm directly from faith that speaks of a truth that does not allow a "but".

However, all of us have experiences that are not easy to explain. An honest person that becomes economically broke, a good home that suffers family trauma, wars with all its fatalities, ruthless people that triumph and gain power So many things that seem to say that there is no logic or harmony, not a power over the powers of earth.

The ways of God are an infinite mystery; they are by far incomprehensible to us. All these things, random results without any meaning when we take each one separately, find their meaning and logic in the group of all things, because all of them are oriented towards an end. God governs over all that is otherwise random.

Does man accept the Providence or does he build it?

Both. We remember that God, in his script, has foretold everything for the good of his creatures, being each one of them the main character. Believing in the Providence makes me realize that all that comes to pass is from the living love of God. All that happens and all the circumstances are looking precisely at me, who is the center of all of them: they are all for my good.

All this takes us a step further.

Providence can be affirmed by faith and can be understood up to a certain point, with what has been said up to now. But it is possible to have a greater understanding when you live according to that fact: looking for the loving hand of God in all the circumstances of our lives.

One normal day in my life: today. Something, anything, happens. The circumstances, what is asked, the happening itself all is in a circle around me, and I am in the very center of it all. In all this, in this situation, there is a God present. God is here and now, in my situation, looking at me. And he looks, not down at us as if we were rocks, but as his sons from whom he waits an answer; he awaits my reply, my actions: a completely free action of my will. He hopes I will make the compromise, that I do what I must, what corresponds to me.

A superficial view of God makes us consider him distant and indifferent, as if he were dead and inactive. On the contrary: God, with his love that is life, is constantly in the here and now, in my concrete situation and in its entirety.

And my person is not indifferent to his plans in the least, rather, the script is counting that I will take my place and realize my role in the Providence.

Can man direct what happens in this world?

The world is not a programmed machine that moves itself necessarily according to what is foretold. The world is the actual creation of the love of God, which comes forth from him and from me. Love of God that comes from him: all the situations that I confront. Love of God that comes from me: who realize it all with my free actions.

God calls me in each moment to take part in his creation. And he gives me freedom, so I may use it and take part.

My starring in this world, in the creation, is of imperative worth and immeasurable consequence. The life of a Christian is one of passion: being a constant cooperator in the creation of God. That is what God invites me to. That is what he wants to oblige me to do, but asking only that I act with free will.
